Bev Porter joined the Center for Community and Family Engagement in October, 2019 as the Project Operations Coordinator, supporting the Family-Centered Practice Project. She has an M.B.A. from Butler University and a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University.
Education, literacy, children and families, and health-related topics have been areas of interest throughout her career. She came to the Center with 5 years of experience as an Office Manager in the NC State Psychology Department, where she worked for both the Teen Health Lab and the Psychoeducational Clinic. Prior to that, she worked for a Fortune 500 Company, 2 non-profits, 2 small businesses, and an elementary school, with work experience in 4 different states. She enjoys applying her skills in project management and coordination, data management and reporting, budgeting and financial reporting, and training and communication to the Family-Centered Practice Project. When she’s not at work, she especially enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, doing water aerobics, gardening, quilting, researching genealogy, and almost anything outdoors.
